In connection with the accession of the Silesian University of Technology Faculty of Architecture to the POWER 3.5 Program, at the Faculty, full-time second-cycle study (MSc) in English, in the field of Architecture, will be opened. The recruitment rules remain the same as those for the study taught in Polish.

Candidates for second degree studies in the field of Architecture are accepted on the basis of the total number of points obtained as a result of a two-stage recruitment procedure:
  • Stage I - result of first degree studies,

  • Stage II - assessment of the candidate's individual achievements on the basis of the submitted portfolio.

  • The portfolio should be sent from the e-mail address registered by the candidate in SOREK application. The content of the e-mail should include:

  • The deadline for registration, payment of the recruitment fee and digital transfer of the portfolio is 13 of September 2020 till 23.59 (second call)

  • The maximum number of points possible to obtain is:
    • Stage I – 50,
    • Stage II – 100.

    Candidates must possess the competencies necessary to continue their studies in the second cycle of studies in the field of Architecture, attested by a diploma in architecture, as defined in admission criteria for those studies.

    Rules for checking the competence of a candidate by means of an artistic talent test
    1. A test of artistic talent takes place by means of portfolio verification. The maximum number of points possible to obtain from the portfolio is 100.
    2. The awards and prizes in competitions and achievements in other fields should be documented by diplomas or certificates obtained by the candidate. Portfolio should be prepared in Polish or in English.
    3. The candidate sends the portfolio for evaluation electronically in the form of a PDF file together with a scan or digital photo of signed declaration that submitted files present candidates own work. A specimen of the declaration will be provided further in time.
    4. The candidate sends the portfolio for evaluation electronically in the form of a PDF file together with a scan or digital photo of the statement of own authorship of the portfolio.

    What should the portfolio contain?
    The portfolio in A3 format, in horizontal layout, is to contain: a cover page with the candidate's details: first name(s), surname and three legible thematic sections:
    in part I – from 3 to 5 selected course projects carried out during the first degree studies (it is allowed to present course projects carried out in a team with determination of the percentage share of a candidate) and the graphic part of an Bachelor diploma project. In the case of candidates who have started their professional work after completing the first degree studies, it is possible to include, instead of the course projects, the projects made after the studies, with the indication of the percentage share of the candidate's authorship..
    w części II:
    o competition projects, the effects of participation in workshops, projects carried out during internships (including the determination of the percentage of the candidate's participation and the scope of work that he carried out in selected projects),
    o other achievements related to the discipline of architecture and urban planning, including: participation in the Erasmus programme, speeches at conferences, publication of scientific articles, etc.
    in part III - organisational and other achievements (work in scientific circles, student organisations, student self-government, non-governmental organisations, voluntary work, professional achievements, etc.).

    How to transfer the portfolio
    The portfolio should be submitted electronically as a PDF file by 11:59 p.m. on 8 July 2020. Detailed information will be communicated to the candidates in a communication from the Central Recruitment Committee.

    Information about the portfolio
    The portfolio composed in A3 format, in horizontal layout, is to contain: title page with the candidate's data: first name(s), surname and three legible thematic parts (a.s.). The awards and prizes in competitions and achievements in other fields should be documented by copies of the diplomas/certificates obtained by the candidate. The portfolio should be prepared in Polish or English and saved as a pdf file not exceeding 30 MB. Information concerning the compression of portfolio files will be published closer to the recruitment deadline.

    Deadline for portfolio submission
    The portfolio should be submitted in the form of a pdf file by electronic means (a separate instruction will describe how to submit it) by July 8th 2020 (Wednesday) at 23:59.
