Delegation from the Lviv Polytechnic National University visited Gliwice

The Silesian University of Technology hosted a delegation of scientists from the Lviv Polytechnic. Representatives of the Ukrainian university spent 2 days in Gliwice, getting acquainted with the achievements of faculties and research programmes implemented at the Silesian University of Technology. The two-day visit began with a meeting with the university authorities on Monday, 4 February.
The meeting was attended by the hosts: the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk; all vice rectors; Professor Anna Chrobok from the Faculty of Chemistry, Vice Dean for Science and Foreign Cooperation and a representative for cooperation with the Lviv Polytechnic and Professor Wojciech Zieliński, former Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Doctor Honoris Causa of the Lviv Polytechnic. As for the guests, we hosted Professor Oleh Matviykiv, Vice Rector for Science and International Cooperation; Professor Mykhailo Lobur; Professor Myroslav Sanytsky; N. Yavorskyi PhD and M. Vovk PhD.
- It is a great pleasure to welcome our guests from the Lviv Polytechnic, a university from which not only the founding staff of the Gliwice university comes from, but also our first post-war students. It was our real share capital- said Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, welcoming the guests.
The Rector, Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk expressed the interest in the proposal to exchange experience by temporary employment of professors from the Lviv Polytechnic, including their research and didactic process.
Guests visited the following faculties: Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering. Main subjects during the meetings included research and didactic processes carried out at particular faculties, including modelling and designing of intelligent materials, possibilities of dual studies implementation in Ukraine, based on experience from the EU or concepts for the construction of the control systems and visualization of water supply networks in the cities based on the Matlab programme.
