Silesian University of Technology have gained further academic cooperation partners from China.
On Monday, 15 October 2018 an agreement with Beijing Information Science and Technology University and Beijing University of Technology was signed in the university rectorate. The cooperation will mainly refer to student exchange.
The following rectors were the signatories to the agreement: on behalf of the Silesian University of Technology - Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, on behalf of the Beijing University of Technology - Professor LIU Gonghui, on behalf of Beijing Information Science and Technology University - Professor WANG Xiuyan

- We admire your achievements and look forward to our cooperation. It’s an honour for us to sign an agreement with a university that has such modern and well equipped laboratories - emphasized the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology.
Under the scope of this agreement, signed with Beijing University of Technology, a student exchange programme will be created. Its aim is to enrich cultural and educational life of both universities. Students will be able to leave for one semester or for the entire academic year.
The framework cooperation agreement with Beijing Information Science and Technology University, in addition to student exchange, will also include the exchange of academic staff, supervision of students during their internships in companies and joint research programmes.
- Our cooperation had already begun in the mid-1980s, when we signed a cooperation agreement, and your university had a different name. Today we have opportunity to sign a new agreement and open the next chapter of our cooperation - said Rector Arkadiusz Mężyk.
Each university has committed to appoint a programme coordinator who will be responsible for student exchange. On the part of the Silesian University of Technology, the Vice-Rector for Science and Development, Professor Marek Pawełczyk will be the coordinator.
Representatives of Polish and Chinese universities took part in the Sino-Polish University Consortium meeting, which took place at the Silesian University of Technology, and in the 8th European Congress of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.
