Silesian University of Technology trains aircraft mechanics

The Organization for Training of Technical Service Mechanics (OSMOT), operating under the Silesian University of Technology, was granted a Certificate of Approval by the President of Civil Aviation Authority, Piotr Samson, due to which our University has joined the group of institutions owning this type of aviation training centre.

On the one hand, this Certificate confirms that OSMOT meets the conditions stated in the Commission Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014, dated 26th November, 2014, on the topic of continuous airworthiness of aircraft and aeronautical products, parts and appliances. On the other hand, it indicates that OSMOT is permanently able to provide safe training activities in civil aviation.

Upon receiving the Certificate, OSMOT was granted the right to plan and implement theoretical and practical training, as well as organization of exams from theoretical modules, and awarding appropriate knowledge certificates, constituting one of the key conditions to obtain an aircraft mechanic license in subcategory B 1.3. – turbine-powered helicopters.
