Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - International cooperation
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has applied the new curricula of two-level studies, compatible with the “Bologna Chart” to all of its programmes and courses, which allows for an extensive international student exchange.
About 50% of the outgoing mobility at the Silesian University of Technology is realised by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, mostly by the Institute of Engineering Materials and Biomaterials. During last few years, about a dozen of academic staff members participated in scientific or didactic exchange in many countries of the European Union. Moreover, within the framework of bilateral or individual contracts, the „post-doc” trainings are carried out in Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Finland, Spain, Canada, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Italy.
Within the Institute of Technological Processes, Automation and Integrated Manufacturing Systems, cooperation has been established with TU Chemnitz from Germany (in the field of Computer-aided design) and ICAM France (in the field of Production engineering).
