Faculty of Chemistry - Cooperation with industry


Members of the Department of Inorganic, Analytical Chemistry and Electrochemistry cooperate with both national and international partners in terms of transferring research results into the industry. This includes:

  • Cooperation with TAURON group in development of new electromembrane-based technology of ultra-pure water production (“Production of demineralized water for water-steam cycle using the electromembrane methods” project (PBS3/B1/9/2015), funded by the Polish National Centre for Research and Development);
  • Participation in “ENFLUID” project (Pol-Nor/196923/49/2013) – part of the Polish-Norwegian Research Cooperation Programme of the National Centre for Research and Development; the department takes part in developing membrane-based technology for treatment of hydraulic fracturing flowbacks;
  • Research collaboration with MEGA a.s. and MemBrain s.r.o. companies from Czech Republic; an  investigation of novel intermembrane spacers and application of electrodialysis in drinking water;
  • Participation in “ZEROBRINE” project under the Horizon 2020 programme in cooperation with partners from 12 EU countries (“Systemic, eco-innovative approaches for circular economy: large-scale demonstration projects”). The project is coordinated by TU Delft and the task of our department is to design and deploy a pilot plant to produce concentrated brine from coal mine water using membrane processes;
  • Cooperation with Nycz Intertrade Ltd. in development of electromembrane methods for metal recovery as a part of project funded by the National Centre for Research and Development and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management;
  • Cooperation with Optirem Ltd. in the Industrial and Technology Park REVITA PARK, by offering chemical analysis of samples for the industry;
  • Taking part in a project titled “Corrosion resistant layers formation technology on magnesium alloys by spark anodization method”, funded by the Polish National Centre for Research and Development, in cooperation with WSK Rzeszow and Rzeszow University of Technology.


Department of Organic Chemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry and Biotechnology also cooperates with the industry. It cooperates with such companies as:

Research cooperation of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Process Design includes collaboration with various companies and institutions (e.g. with such firms as: Henkel Polska Sp. z o.o., Rafako, Fluor S.A.). The scope of cooperation with industry includes the following fields of study:

  • Process simulation, optimization, integration and design;
  • Apparatus selection and design;
  • Measurement of pollutants emission;
  • Emission abatement techniques, in particular the emission of PM (dust);
  • Wet limestone and ammonia, flue gases desulphurization technology;
  • Wet soda, flue gases cleaning technology;
  • Semi-dry and dry flue gases cleaning technology;
  • Technology denitrification SNCR and SCR;
  • Purification of flue gases from waste incineration plants;
  • Gasification and thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) waste, wood end west water deposit;
  • Enzymatic sugar coupling (ERA-NET-IB 2 project).

Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Polymers has developed cooperation with industrial partners in various fields of study, including:
